Adolescents (aged 13-17) with a variety of severe and persistent mental health disorders are assessed and treated through his 15-bed inpatient program, usually following an intensive assessment through the inpatient adolescent acute care program (Royal Alexandra Hospital). The adolescent inpatient program also has a transitional day treatment component. As with the children’s unit, patients attend their programs from Sunday afternoon to Friday afternoon, returning home on the weekends. The average length of stay is 3-4 months.
