A subspecialty, multidisciplinary service with a mandate to provide rapid access to evidence based clinical services, for individuals ages 16-35, who are experiencing their first episode of psychosis (within 1 year of onset of psychosis symptoms). EEPIC provides a comprehensive, initial psychiatric assessment, and longitudinal follow up as appropriate, for up to 3 years. Key strategies are to empower young adults and their families who are coping with psychosis through supportive counseling, education (client and family), and respectful specialized treatment.
